How it works

Sum your zakatable assets, subtract short-term debts. If the remainder meets or exceeds the gold nisab (85 g) after a full Hijri year, Zakat is 2.5%.

Formula

Zakat = (assets − debts) × 0.025, only if at or above nisab.

Worked example

Assets SAR 200,000 − debts SAR 20,000 = SAR 180,000; Zakat = SAR 4,500.
